Ever since I stared studying photography, I have always had an interest in identities of individuals and the way to express them through using their bodies. Bodies are visual and they are the first thing to look at when we see people, and they give the strongest impact to create the images toward others. Not only because of races, cultures, or genes, but also because individual life histories make us more distinct from everyone else.

For my project, I am now producing a series of portraits of individuals and how their life histories marked on their bodies. For the half beginning of my project, I have been mostly photographed people who have tattoos. There are various reason people get marks on their bodies and each represents their own histories. However, I am now trying to transfer to the next step, which is photograph people with scars or some other marks, who they did not chose to have or something they got from rituals.
